There are thousands of Substack authors. So how do you find them?
Do you just want to read the popular ones? Are you a *Contrarian*?
If you say you’re a contrarian, what do you call a contrarian? A popular author that is kinda different but safe because they’re popular? Or someone who disagrees with popular narratives? Do you mean to say, someone *unpopular*? If so, how do you find them?
Recommendations are one way, but with many authors recommending dozens of others, it can be hard to sort through those that suit you.
Substack categories are another way, but those categories are overly broad and that still leaves you with many authors to sort through.
What if there were an *issue index*, that listed authors by their take on issues? Not only that, but what if there were a multi-issue index, so you could match one to views on multiple issues? Then you might quickly be able to unearth some that are not popular, but that you agree with.
So how *many* issues should be in this issue index? 5? 10? 100? The more the better? Keep in mind that it will be hard to get authors to submit their views on even a few issues, let alone dozens or more.
So please participate in this survey to give me an idea of how you define ‘Contrarian’.
I have had to say NO to the jabs. I have had to say NO to the WiFi and cellphone. I have had to say NO to choosing political sides. I have had to say NO to a lot. But I'm still here, and many are NOT.
